VIE DES SNO-ROVERS

Ce printemps, le club
de motoneige Kap Sno-Rovers a récompensé le travail de Jos Matko
en le reconnaissant comme membre à vie. M. Matko œuvre
bénévolement pour le club depuis sa création en 1972 et a occupé
de nombreux postes dans l’organisation depuis ce temps. C’est
seulement la deuxième fois que le club reconnaît un membre de
cette façon. M. Matko rejoint Donat Gagnon, le premier
récipiendaire de cette distinction. |

SECOND LIFETIME MEMBER

This spring, the
Kap Sno-Rovers Snowmobile Club recognized the efforts of Jos
Matko by granting him a lifetime membership. Mr. Matko has been
a volunteer since the club’s inception in 1972 and, over the
years, he has filled numerous positions within the
organization. It is only the second time that the Sno-Rovers
have recognized a member in this manner. Mr. Matko now joins
Donat Gagnon, the first recipient of this distinction. |

Le
samedi 6 février 2010, le club de motoneige Kap Sno-Rovers a
tenu son Rallye Poker annuel. Cent mains de poker ont été
vendues et environ 120 personnes ont participé à l’activité.
Ci-dessus nous voyons le président, Jules Lauzon, qui remet des
chèques à deux des gagnants. Richard Pelchat a gagné le premier
prix de 556$ et Monique Garon a gagné le deuxième prix de 335$.
Mario Jacques (absent de la photo) s’est mérité le troisième
prix de 222$.
On Saturday February 6th, the Kap Sno-Rovers Snowmobile Club
held its annual Poker Rally. One hundred poker hands were sold
and approximately 120 people participated. Pictured above is
club President Jules Lauzon handing cheques over to two of the
winners. Richard Pelchat won the $556 first prize and Monique
Garon won the $335 second prize. Mario Jacques (absent from the
photo) won the $222 third prize. |

1 500 CALENDRIERS = 1 MOTONEIGE
La vente récente de
calendriers 2010 par les Kap Sno-Rovers fut, encore une fois,
couronnée de succès. Tous les 1 500 calendriers furent vendus
permettant ainsi au club de remplacer une de ces deux
motoneiges, qui datait de 1998, par un nouveau modèle.
Ci-dessous on voit Tony Urbas et Jean-Claude Cormier avec la
nouvelle motoneige qui servira aux travailleurs de sentier à
faire l’entretien et la signalisation.
1 500 CALENDARS = 1 SNOWMOBILE
The Kap Sno-Rovers
recent 2010 calendar sale was once again crowned with success.
All of its 1,500 calendars were sold and profits were used to
replace one of its two snowmobiles, a 1998 model, with a brand
new sled. Pictured above are Tony Urbas and Jean-Claude Cormier
with the new snowmobile which will be used by trail crews for
maintenance and signage.

La saison de motoneige 2008-09 n’était pas encore terminée
que le club de motoneige Kap Sno-Rovers préparait déjà la
prochaine saison. Sous l’habile direction de Jules Lauzon
et d’Yvon Côté, le club a complété la réfection du pont
O’Brien qui se trouve sur le sentier Top A au nord-est de
Kapuskasing. En plus des coordonnateurs du projet, neuf
autres bénévoles ont participé aux travaux : Marcel
Barriault, Al Carrière, Gaston Dagenais, Macky Gaulin,
Maurice Gauthier, Jim Mangan, Bob Roussy, Tony Urbas et
Jerry Valley. Bravo à toute l’équipe pour cette belle
réussite! |

The 2008-09 snowmobile season wasn’t even over and the Kap
Sno-Rovers snowmobile club was already preparing for next
season. Under the able direction of Jules Lauzon and Yvon
Côté, the club completed the rebuilding of the O’Brien Creek
Bridge located on the Top A trail northeast of Kapuskasing.
In addition to the project coordinators, nine other
volunteers participated in the construction: Marcel
Barriault, Al Carrière, Gaston Dagenais, Macky Gaulin,
Maurice Gauthier, Jim Mangan, Bob Roussy, Tony Urbas and
Jerry Valley. Congratulations to the team for a job well
done! |
